I really like this photo of Ikuko. The colors are nice - this was taken at the Apple Store in Emeryville where she works as a Genius and the Genius Bar there has a lot of soft, pastel lights in the background. This was a hard shot to take initially because the D70 was set to the full matrix lighting system. However, it was very bright in back of Ikuko and she came out underexposed as a result. What I did was set the light meter to single focus, which just evaluates the lighting at the center of the viewfinder. That means the background will get overexposed to some degree but in this case, it was a nice balance because it made the back glow while making sure Ikuko herself was properly lit.
