I didn't take this in "portrait mode" but the shot could only have been taken in that way since the low-light means I needed as fast as an aperture as I could get, but that also means that only the subject will be in focus because of the low depth of field. As you can see, the bar in back of her is entirely blurred out but that's the way it should "properly" look.
