Amanda Ambrose is better known in jazz circles but there's no way that "Sad Songs" is anything other than a soul tune, especially with Ambrose's belting vocals. Oddly, not only was Ambrose a Scientologist but this song appears on a label run by Scientologists, Beegee. Weird history, great song. Sample.
