Soul Sides Vol. 1
An old friend and top-notch collector, Georges Sulmers, was spinning in this small bar in Brooklyn and threw the song on. I recognized it from the Salt N' Pepa remake but was instantly charmed by the original. I recently had a chance to interview Lyndell - she's incredibly gracious and despite a 25 year hiatus, is now back making music; it's a great story. This was one of only two singles she ever recorded in her entire career but she knocked it out of the park. Sample.
