Charles May and Annette May Thomas are the children of gospel giant Joe May and "Keep My Baby Warm" originally appeared on a tribute album to Joe that the Stax subsidiary, Gospel Truth, released. This is a perfect opener since the song itself has a rousing introduction that drops into a beautifully grooving gospel soul masterpiece backed-up by a stellar rhythm section including "Cool Aid Chemist," Paul Humphrey on drums.
